The tree is characterized by its multi-colored bark that peels away to reveal a bright green layer underneath. The colors of the bark range from bright blue, to purple, to orange, and red. The rainbow gumtree can grow up to 70 meters tall and is known for its fast growth rate. The tree is mainly grown for its aesthetic appeal and is not commonly used for timber.
